You can cycle with Fleet Cycling as a guest, at no charge, for three rides to decide whether our rides are what you are seeking. Please complete the guest rider form.
If you want to become a regular rider then you will need to Join Cycling UK here. This is due to the Cycling UK insurance rules.
Cycling in a group
If you are new to cycling in a group then please take a look at the Cycling UK's page How to cycle in a group or at our page here.
The ride leader will help you and explain the important points. Also it is a good idea to go to the rides pages and contact the ride leader beforehand to let him/her know that you are thinking of joining the ride.
How to join Fleet Cycling
Just become a member of Cycling UK to enjoy weekly medium paced cycle rides with us, of 20 to 60 miles on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Helmets
We strongly recommend that all cyclists who join our rides should wear helmets. In total, our riders cycle tens of thousands of miles each year. We take great care, but sadly and inevitably there have been a few significant crashes. In the summer of 2022 one of our riders went down on a patch of gravel, and another crashed into him. Both hit the ground hard and both helmets were badly damaged. All those present were in no doubt that the helmets saved major injuries or even fatalities.
Fleet Cycling respects everyone’s right to choose whether or not to wear a helmet, as per Cycling UK's guidance. However we also feel that we must respect the rights of those ride leaders and participants unwilling to expose themselves to the potential mental trauma of witnessing a serious head injury. Hence our ride leader guidance is that a leader can recuse him or herself if a rider shows up without a helmet. The group can then either nominate another (trained) ride leader if that person is willing, or set off as a ‘group of friends’ which is then not cycling under the auspices of Fleet Cycling. Of course any other riders may also elect not to join the ride.
